blog banner

EDIT: Above is the final blog banner. I decided to make the background completely void. It works with my minimalistic blog design because the background is white too.

Hey guys, this is supposed to be the background for my blog banner. I am still a little unsure of some things. I think it will obviously look different with text, but are there any areas that need a bit more color?

Hey girl,
I think this is a lot of fun and a great welcoming embrace to all visitors! My only "problem" with it is the gray. :/ I almost want to see it like the water puddles or not there at all. Maybe get ride of the gray and add a fun hand drawn (which means photoshopped) border that's simple but organic.

Other than that tho, can't wait to see it up with your name and everything! :D

I agree with Sara. On the web when it comes to text - less is more.

It's a small nit, but I think her head is tad bit large for her body.

I love the drops bouncing off the puppy's nose.

My first thought is, this is adorable! The little raindrops bouncing here and there are nice touches and you've added a nice shiny wetness to the rain gear.
I will agree with the others about the gray part, it kind of reads like a concrete wall. I'll bet it would look just fine if you Photoshopped it out.
It's going to be a funloving welcome to your blog!

I'm all for the minimalist approach! I say good job! The drops of water coming off the dogs nose read a lot better too! And I love the type. I seem to always default to comic sans on my stuff, but only because I haven't found a better font type that screams kid to me (and I figure an editor will add his/her own font anyway)...

Ooo, it looks great now Candace! Just perfect! I like how the colors of the text match her outfit. :)

I agree with Carmen - it looks neater now without the gray background and less confined. Great banner!

Good choice. I like the clean background- it emphasizes the characters nicely and the water drops on the dog's nose stand out, which I think is a great feature.

I love the final version...perfect colors and font choice. Looks really welcoming and colorful, yet minimal and charming.

I haven't had the chance to say I LOVE IT! Oooo! You could even use this on the new website that you're gonna do. ;) eh? eh?

Just went to your blog, and as awesome as it looks (and it does look AWESOME), size it down a bit. It's too overwhelming that large. :) Try half that height.
