IF Pattern - WIP
Sketched this tonight. I'm so excited because I've wanted to do a Princess and the Pea illustration for YEARS and now have an excuse to do so. :D Each mattress and blanket, including the wall will have a pattern on it. Only the princess will not. I'm not entirely sold on the window. Let me know if it works or not. If not, any suggestions on how to say it's night time would be great. Remember, she's on tons of mattresses so she's pretty high up in the room. :)
Can't wait to see all of your Illustration Friday sketches/illos!

Update
Hello everyone, I've been away for a while since we are moving once again. We are still in MD but at a different area. The move is taking longer than expected. I've been keeping myself busy experimenting with new characters and a softer look to my digital illustrations. The good news is that I recently signed a contract with a local publisher to have a picture book illustrated, titled "Celebrations". I am hoping to go with a style as shown above. This technique will help me reduce my work time in half. Hope everything pans out. Good to be back after so long. I apologize for my long absence.

Illustration Friday Challenge
I'm back, up, and running! Whoo! After about a month of getting life back together, getting on track, and placing my behind into a schedule, I'm ready to take off. I've been keeping up with the blog, tho not posting, but reading (they come through my email), and we've been quiet for over a week.
So I CHALLENGE YOU! hehe And me. :P
I challenge each member of this board to post a WIP for this upcoming Illustration Friday word. Dunno what it is yet, but once it is posted find 15mins and sketch something out. Even if it isn't a finished sketch, so what! Hey, you got the sketch done, that's post-able! It would be awesome to see everyone submit to IF this upcoming week. :) I really hope everyone is doing well, and have LOTS of work to do (which is why none of us are posting right? ^_- ). God bless and talk soon!

Working on a lot of stuff.
Most of it isn't either something I can show and/or children's illustration.
My last coloring page went out a few weeks ago and I can share that.
I have also been doing the Daily Doodle Challenge since late May (I think). It's a sketch done in 30 minutes or less of anything but has to be done in ink and no erasing. For the month of Sept. I've been working on facial expressions. Until yesterday. I hurt my thumb and can't hold anything in my drawing hand. So I am resting it.
Visit my blog to see more. Daily Art Food
But the truly exciting news is that I received the text for my next picture book (Aug 2010) which I will be starting on as soon as the hand feels better. And I will love to have your comments in the back room when I have stuff to post.

Welcome-Illustration Friday Post
Hi guys, Sorry to fall off the face of the earth. I had some medical/personal issues within the past 2 months and it time crept up on me. All is well now and I am fine, so I hope to get back in the art swing again. :)
This is the only thing I have really painted recently and I am not thrilled with it, so I might try again. It ended up much darker than I anticipated.

Her Fears Were Magnified (Revised)
Here it is with revisions! Thank you everyone for your great suggestions -- I really was about ready to toss this piece in the garbage. You see something in it that I cannot see, so that's rather comforting (it's been a tough creative block kind of week!). Hopefully the contrast is bumped up a bit in this version.

It's been pretty quiet lately ~
So I thought I'd post some things I've been working on. Actually, like some people, I'm on a rut with illustration. But to get over that, I'd been doing some simple (stylized) character sketches, trying out new a new style and looking at Klimt, who is pretty up there in the Great Greats for me.
When I'm not drawing, I photograph. It helps when I'm stuck in one to do the other. They basically just inspire each other so that's a plus.
So what about you guys? How's summer treating you? Hope all is well ~

Sample spreads to send with book dummy
I'm going to send my book dummy out next week with these full color sample spreads. The dummy is completely illustrated and in book order, pages turn just like a book would. That was hard to figure out and confusing to print the pages front and back in the correct order. Anyone have an easier way of doing that in a cheap way?
