Painting Grace

Finally something not related to any projects I have going on. I found myself loosing interest in them and thought it'd be best to do something else (other sketching) to break. I find that sometimes that helps me inspired to keep working on the other projects. It's been a while since I've finished a painting that wasn't related to anything. :)

I'm pretty happy with it, except for the fact I should have placed more going on in the background. :P

Hi Sara!

This painting really speaks to me as I just gave my 2 year old a paintbrush and watercolors for the first time yesterday! He loves it...I'll have to post his work...very abstract...but good.

There's lots to like in this one...from the cute expression to the well planned perspective. Your attention to detail is great!

My eyes feel like the lighting coming from the window (out of view) could be brighter compared to the floor...which would lay down more light on the paper behind her, on her back and left side of arm.

Pretty nit-picky if you ask me...but hey, I gotta find something to say, right? :)

This is so sweet, Sara :) I really like how you've made a couple of things go outside of the frame, it makes the whole thing feel more intimate. I'd be hard pressed to find a crit about this piece, except what Pete said about the light spots from the window.
Beautiful and nostalgic!

As usual, I can't find anything to suggest. LOL I do agree with the light source comments and then maybe adding some shadow from the plants, but that is very minor and I wouldn't have noticed if Pete hadn't said anything. She is precious and her braids are adorable. :)

Very nice work. I like the subtle light on the floor and the weight on the girls arm translates nicely. Don't see anything that i would change.

this is such a cute and simple painting! Great hair texture...terrific color on the character. I love how the the two objects extend past the boarder.

Quite nice.
