My first thought is to maybe brighten up the clothing in the people in the foreground. I think I was surprised that the bids were brown too. It is a nice piece , just feels a bit muted.
This is a really nice piece of illustration. I like how the houses are muted in color allowing them to fall into the BKGD more and each house unique in look. That had to take some time to draw. I agree with Patti that if you brighten up the clothes on the kids their will be more pop to them, but don't go to far. Sometimes the camera washes the color out so judge for yourself. I think it would be great even if you left it alone. Really nice job on this one.
Very nice illustration! I like the angles and all the different faces and emotions and positions of the kids. And you handled the background quite well, with it getting lighter as things go further back. Adds a lot of depth.
The only thing I can really see that bothers me a bit is the kid on the right (that's looking at the letter). His face has some shadow to it, but seems to flatten out a bit - as does the letter that he's holding in front of him - maybe a shadow offset would bring it further away from his chest.
