Working on some black and white images of children. I did a bunch of sketches that are more realistic, but wanted to try a little looser stylized look. Here's what I have so far.

It's loose in the line but the actual image is a bit stiff. Work on making legs and arms more expressive. :D
Well, I really like it. Its funny you're trying out this new style, because I'm thinking of trying to loosen up what I do as well.
I think think this girl has a really great listening expression - as if she's waiting to hear instruction for a response from somebody. I like the scratchiness of her hair.
I feel like the left arm is reading kinda funny as is, but other than that its very nice. I look forward to seeing more samples in this style from you.
I like it as a style choice. Nice pen and ink drawing.
I think it could use a little bit of 'drawing through' - finding the basic shapes that make up the character will help you find where everything should go and which direction they should go in. Also - finding the center lines will help you pose the character as well (center of the face and so on).
Also - I have this problem with my own characters, especially when they have clothes on - but draw the legs all the way up - you can add the skirt later or even just keep the skirt and erase out the legs when you're done figuring it out. But it all goes back to drawing through.

Pete I agree that left arm is a bit wonky.I'm working on some other things now but hope to get back to working on the children images again soon.

I agree I need to just find time to draw and draw and draw children. It feels so much easier doing animals and adults.
