Are you submitting?

SCBWI Bulletin

Something I don't know how many of you consider, but are you submitting to the SCBWI Bulletin those sketches that are sitting around?  I have found it very helpful!  It's making me think more about how I'm drawing my characters, trying to bring more life and purpose into them.  So when I'm randomly sketching or sketching for IF I try to make them useful.  It's definitely worth a shot if you haven't, and so easy to do!  Plus, if you get in, you get paid.  On top of that, then you have some work published no matter how little or small it is.  Definitely something that keeps your spirits up and feel great about.

I would love to hear or see everyone here submit at least once or twice this year.  The bulletin comes out every two months so there's definitely plenty of opportunities!  If you don't know how to submit let me know or post a comment, we'll get you set up!  Good luck!

Cute sketch! I've thought about submitting to the Bulletin before, but didn't realize they pay. Great suggestion, Sara.

I submitted 3 in June and 5 in July. Since then a friend who submitted after me has had her art published. So I am losing hope my work will be in the Bulletin. :(

I guess I shouldn't be too hard on myself. She had an agent CONTACT her to be repped and just got her first check for an assignment.

Can we say jealous?
